Review
OvertakeSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The game has the option to either practice, take part in a single race or compete in a championship in which you race consecutive circuits. Overtake includes most of the worldwide famous Formula 1 tracks like San Marino, Monaco, Canada, France, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil and Spain. The AI is good and the computer controlled pilots have different driving styles and sometimes this makes it harder to overtake during the race. Each car also is handled differently. The gears shift can be either manual or automatic. Fortunately there is no car damage during collisions (a feature that makes Overtake a more arcade-style racing title). Also, there is no need to refuel, to change tires etc as there are no pit stops. So yes, this game is closer to an arcade racing than a simulator and is a very playable title as the controls are very responsive.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
Overtake has good graphics and smooth enough scrolling, and along with its responsive controls, this game is totally fun to play! Each circuit has its own unique design, details and backgrounds. The game screen is filled with more than 120 colors and the dashboard view is impressive. Both wing mirrors show in real-time any action behind you! During the races there are many sampled sound effects that do the job well. These include the engine "roaring", any collisions sounds and even your "screeching" tires! The game's sound also includes some nicely composed main-menu sampled tunes.
